Comments
When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once approved, your profile picture is publicly visible in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images on the site.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies. These are for convenience, so you don’t have to fill in details again when leaving another comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie is set to check if your browser accepts cookies. This contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we set up cookies to save your login details and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days, screen option cookies last one year. Selecting “Remember Me” keeps your login active for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, a cookie is stored in your browser and expires after one day.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the original website. These sites may collect data, use cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction, including tracking if you have an account and are logged in.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely for recognition and automatic approval of follow-up comments.
For registered users, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information anytime (except for changing their username). Website administrators can also see and edit this information.

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase any personal data, except what we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
